Wow what a week of ups and downs, on a real high on Monday, now well down on Friday, at home feeling mega rough after a long bad night.
Enough of my sorrows.
Time to let off some steam.
Facebook is full of pages dedicated to photography groups which I like the idea of but O'boy the poor and just wrong advice that gets put up as gospel.
I have even found web site owners/publishers who do not know some basic principles, while I would never profess to be the greatest expert, why teach when you don't understand yourself?
Here are a few that bug me:-
Crop factor camera lenses, most of us shoot on these only dreaming of full frame gear. As you probably know with a crop camera a 50mm has the same field of view as a 75/80mm lens. Fact. It does not produce the same perspective and distortion as a 75/80mm on a full frame camera.
Studio flash/strobes, 99% of the time your shutter speed does not effect the
final image exposure. Just make sure it is set to your camera a synchronising speed as specified by the maker. Studio exposure is governed by aperture, iso and flash/strobe power.
What lens should I use to shoot a wedding? If you need to ask this question you should not be shooting a wedding, I know we all have start somewhere but when working to record the couples big day you really ought understand the gear requirements. Apart from the fact that only you know the location, everyone has different natural light/size/conditions etc.
Enough of my moaning for now, have a great day and produce some amazing work.

Re starting
I have been wondering about doing a blog for a while and decided I needed to just get on with it. So I selected a provider and opened up a page to find myself already logged in. It seems I set a page up almost 6 years ago and never used it.
So now what do I blog?
The page is Tim's adventures, do I still have adventures at my age? You bet I do, you're never too old to have adventurous fun. The body might not be in it's twenties but I have yet to grow up.
I run several Flickr sites, a main one and a site just for 365's (A photo every day of the year).
Here are the links
https://www.flickr.com/photos/timlarge/
https://www.flickr.com/photos/84877217@N08/
Comments are always welcome, as I have been taking pictures for many years I have a reasonable knowledge of photography and I'm always happy to help if I can on general photography. I shoot Canon and Fuji gear, so don't know much about Nikon or Sony cameras etc.
Till Next time
